I tried quite a few brands back in the 80's. As I remember, Rotosound sounded great for about 2 weeks, before losing a lot of the tone. After about 6 weeks, I got my first breakage.

After trying several different types, I have used Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys for about the last 20 years. They keep their tone and last for ages.

I really liked using RS66 sets on a Precision. If it wasn't for peer pressure on here I'd probably still be using them and not dipping into my overdraft when I need new strings.

I love mine on my Jazz, sound funky as hell and last forever. As much as I'd love them on my fretless, I like having a good neck so I'm just gonna have to put some flatwounds on that. :)
