Dood Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Having just taken delvery of a wonderful C.A Azur amp, my lovely A1 MK3 SE is up for sale. A respected seperate that has been tweaked by those folk at C.A. I think its 30W per channel which is more than enough for front room hifi and studio monitoring (hence advertising it here) . Yours delivered for £50 The normal A1 model is featured on the CA website http://www.cambridgeaudio.com/default.php and there's a good few reveiews n' stuff on t'interweb. Mr. Foxen Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Well, my nerdy audiophile mate said this is a good deal. But I have a nice enough amp. I'm putting the word about though.
Toasted Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 To piggy back dood's advert: I have a pair of Mission 750LE monitors that would make a great studio monitoring / home entertainment rig. They're in dark cheery and I'm asking £80. I can supply these with the relevant super-high spec QED speaker cable with banana plug ends (cost £80) for another £40. !
MythSte Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Well it looks like us basschatters share similar tastes! I run a C.A Azure 540 into mission M33's! I love cambridge gear, have a wee bump.
Toasted Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Right now I'm running a CA 540A amp into a pair of Quad 12L2's. Glorious sound. I need the CA CD player, and a good turntable. Then I'm done.
MythSte Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Ah, I was going to get the C.A Cd player, but i ended up with a samsung HD-950 for its sa-cd and hi def capabilities. If you ever get a chance to listen to the beatles remixed into sa-cd it really is something else!
Dood Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Hey guys! Fantastic to see similar tatstes! I'm running my Azur 540R into some Mission 733(i - I think) floorstanders.. Soft dome tweeters are my fave! ;o) My mate (a very talented keyboard player) has a Quad set up with electrostatic speakers... it takes up the whole room, but sounds rather nice!

Haggle me. Dan
Does this one feature the phono stage? I'm one of those strange people with a sizeable vinyl collection that I like to listen to from time to time.
Dood Posted January 21, 2008 Author Posted January 21, 2008 I'll actually have to double check! I'm pretty sure it has the phono selection on the input selector, but having never needed to use it, I'm not 100% sure if it has the preamp stage as well. I would make the assumption that yes it does, but I will go and check for you! I have a collection of vinyl, but never got round to buying a decent turntable to do it justice... however.. my bro has.. so I thik a trip to his house with a recording device of sorts to put all my discontinued vinyl on to CD ;o)
dr.funk Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I have the A1 driving my JBL Control 1's which despite being really cheap sounds fine to my ears and goes good and loud. Our drummer has the Azur driving Soundcraft Absolute studio monitors which sounds wicked, must get a pair myself
Merton Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Cracking amp, I have one driving some form of Mission flor standers in my living room Bedroom hifi amp is a Musical Fidelity A1 tho, and that is even better

Its a £20 extra available from any branch of Richer Sounds, they fit it free and its takes like 10mins. (employee)

Dood Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 Any interest folks? would hate to see such a nice piece of kit living wrapped up in a cupboard. £50 delivered!
Dood Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Last call. £50 delivered, it's a great piece of kit for notta lotta money.
cheddatom Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 What does last call mean? I'd have it next month....
Dood Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 It was kinda a last bump. If you want to pop a small holding fee on, I'll be happy to ..well.. hold the amp for you for a week or few.
Hutton Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Here's another bump on me. BTW. Can anyone tell me why I can't play a CD-R on my CA CD36 player? CD-Rs seem to play quite happily on every other player in the house.
