chugster
Hi, I recently started playing bass and, although I have access to an amp for live purposes, it isn't practical for practice at home. Can anyone offer me any advise regarding "pod" type solutions that Icould use to practice with headphones?I've seen this Behringer LX1B any views? Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Ghost_Bass
Not the best gear around but a very simple, complete and practical solution for home headphone practice. I would say it's a safe bet. Edited January 10, 2011 by Ghost_Bass

Would it be better to spend more and get a Line 6?
Ghost_Bass
Don't know enough about the two to answer you. Maybe someone else can add more info.
woodster
If you want a headphone amp with built in effects, how about the new Tascam Bass Trainer? fretmeister
I ran a Bass POD XT Pro (rack mount) as my live preamp for a while. Very useful and great sounds. Look on ebay for a used kidney shaped one - might get one for under £100 if you are lucky. Don't ignore the red guitar versions - sometimes people have already bought the bass model pack and installed it on the guitar one.
chugster
Thanks for the responses. I've gone for the Tascam GB-10 as this seems to meet my requirements and also provide functions that I didn't know existed - i.e - slow down the tracks whilst learning! It does a good job for home use... but if you want to get the most out of it, you should invest in some good headphones that are able to reproduce bass nicely. I'd go for it. I have a Bass POD XT and it's not significantly better than the behringer.
