TheGreek
I've just seen these bodies for sale on Ebay - anybody thinking of putting together a custom Jazz could do worse than consider one of these!! Ancient Mariner
I was looking at those last night, although I think I'd prefer one of the lighter bodies he sells.
warwickhunt
Quite close to me (12 miles or so away) and though I've not used him, he does seem to have a fair reputation among the locals.

JTUK
It would all be in the neck pocket, from my POV. and beware of being too fancy on the front side and too boring on the back. Don't make the mistake of thinking the facing will cover all sins because the back will tell the tale. And for a fancy facing to have any impact it needs to be quite a large pattern from say 10mtrs away, if it is too subtle it can get lost. Picky, I know, but then you are looking at fancy picky woods, IMV His stock of woods may be good so is e-bay outing the lesser ones..??? This is something I would want to see in the flesh, personally.
Soloshchenko
I've seen these, they look lovely although I don't know if I'd get bored of something so fancy looking after a while.

Not sure what neck id go for either. I did think a dark fretboard ie, ebony but can only seem to find fretless ones of these....not for me!! TheGreek
I'm impressed so I've emailed him to see if he does a headless neck for that body - I bought a headless system last year but can't find anybody who'll supply a neck for it - I'm not prepared to buy a neck and then attack it with a saw (or according to another thread, "Sorr") - had to get that in..sorry.. I'm thinking that I can put together a custom bass from bits I've picked up from eBay over the last few months - got an MEC jazz p/up, a MM humbucker, anybody recommend a good preamp? It would have to be active!! If I remember correctly he also does some nice abolone tele style knobs. I think I've also got some quick release straplocks somewhere.. Having GAS can pay off - don't you just love it when a plan comes together..
Chris2112
Looks like a nice piece of wood, if the neck pocket is ok.
