LukeFRC Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 hmm isn't that what candy apple red was? transparent red over silver sparkle. Quote
wesfinn Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 the metal flake is a lot heavier in this one. Probably a custom order one off. Quote
KK Jale Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011
hmm isn't that what candy apple red was? transparent red over silver sparkle.
Different... this is a metalflake topcoat.. Fender did Blue Sparkle too... Tortie guard is a slight surprise... most custom colours of that era had white, the only custom colour with tortoiseshell was usually olympic white.. Quote
wesfinn Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 I was thinking the same thing about the pickguard, though you could order any thing as a custom order back then. anything was possible! Quote
StevieD_FenderP2009 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 It's the same method as what they used to do the Fender Steve Harris signature model. metal flake over the base colour. All this thing needs is a mirrored pickguard and maple fretboard then i'd be considering swapping my parents for it Quote
tauzero Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 So it's possible to keep a Precision looking decent for nearly 50 years. Really shows up the tat that you normally see... Quote
