NJE Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Not a bass that I would rush out and buy, but I have often thought that the reverse P makes a fair bit of sense in theory, more beef on the higher strings and tighter on the bottom (ooh er missus) whether it would actually make any audible difference would be interesting if you compared back to back? I'm glad I got the old one, I really don't like the new ones; the colours don't look right, the reverse pickup just looks wrong, and I prefer the smaller logo. To me all the changes they've made have been for the worse. There's literally not a single change I like there. Admittedly I have a reverse P pickup in my Taitycaster, but honestly I don't think it makes that much of a difference and it looks alright there, but not on the Mark Hoppus, it just looks wrong. The pick up is reversed,so that Blink fanboys will spend money and convince themselves that it sounds totally different from the old model. I'm not convinced that a reverse P pickup makes that much (if any) difference. If there is a small difference,it will be unnoticeable in 99% of situations. Quote

But I'm not 100%, I can't remember where I saw that. Quote

Gust0o Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 What's wrong with the reverse P? I have the same format on my BC Richs and Charvel, and I think it sounds great - with only a minimal difference over your standard P set-up. I actually find it better with the plucking! Quote
