Hmmm, not so sure. Should be interesting trying to find a hard-case for it (and a stand).

No, I don't think so. And that lower horn could be a cause of huge embarrassment if worn in public.

You know why? It looks wounded and crippled hobbling along on it's one leg.

Nah. The Ibby looks like someone's given it some thought, while that other thing looks like someone shut their eyes & pressed random buttons on a CNC machine for a laugh.

I like these new Ibbys - anyone know what they're going to cost?

Jon.

Surely you're all joking? It's a dog! I agree that it looks melted though, anyone else detecting a hint of Vigier around the horns?

It would be interesting to see how that lower horn would dig on your leg when playing sitting down, which is one of the problem that for instance a Bongo has, the lower horn on the Bongo really does dig and hurts, I should imagine the one on that new Ibanez to be worse.

It won't dig in your leg at all.

The Bongo is digging in because the leg curve is shallow and there is tendency to pull the bass backward which means you're trying to balance the bass on the horn - which will hurt, of course. That is impossible on the Grooveline because of the depth of the leg curve.

Good job it comes with a hard case then :)

They're interesting, but about £1700 i think.

Thy look like some of Carey Norstrands non-Jazz like instruments, which is interesting as there are some new SR 'Premium' models with Nordstrand fat singles on them, and Nordstrand Eq's, for about £850, which look fantastic.
