Dood
Following purchase of a new amp, I no longer need this very fine piece of kit in my rack. The unit is a rack mountable, dual channel EQ featuring 24 bands of ultra musical (i think is the phrase) EQ control. You can operate both channels completely independently or place the using in A+B mode, enabling both channels to share the same saved settings. It operates in both unbalanced and balanced input/output modes through normal 1/4 jacks. (patch leads are fine). You pretty much have control of th eentire 20Hz - 20Khz range in small steps. I find that a little adjustment goes a long way, so its possible to go too far, but there are quite a few presets on the unit to start with. I will return it to factory 'reset' prior to packing for you. I like to drag the 25Hz control down as far as possible... this filters out any frequencies that 99% of cabs cant produce anyway.. you know when your speakers f@rt and flap around? Easy to stop... no point wasting all that energy lol. I have been using the EQ to create 'my sound' recently and am pretty chuffed to have found an amp that appears to be exactly what I have been after.. and boy have I spent too much money on preamps recently!! I don't have a spare power supply for this unit. However it is very easy to get hold of one. You can nip down to Maplin and grab a 9V AC wallwart adaptor capable of supplying 800mA for next to nothing.. Infact, ebay would do one cheaper I am sure. I do have a PSU, but it is needed for another project I'm afraid (its not the original Alesis one, I included that with the sale of my Alesis 3630 compressor ages ago.) Alesis do sell these PSU's seperately, http://www.alesis.com/tech_notes.php?id=15 it is the P3 type. I will post some pictures later.. however it looks just like this :- From the Alesis site, The DEQ 224 is the half rack version of those below and differs very little.
DEQ 230 DEQ230, DEQ230D 2-Channel Digital Graphic EQ 30 bands of extremely graphic EQ.... It wouldn’t be a stretch to call Alesis “The Graphic EQ Company.” Our MEQ230 is a standard in sound installations and studios, and the DEQ series now carries the torch with a groundbreaking approach to digital graphic EQs — for every application and budget — that’s taking engineers by storm. The DEQ230D updates our acclaimed DEQ230 with S/PDIF digital I/O and an internal power supply, keeping the same extensive programmability and intuitive, WYSIWYG-enabled user interface. And the latest addition, the DEQ224, gives a whole new meaning to “space-efficient,” packing two channels of 24-band digital EQ into a half rackspace. From tweaking project studio acoustics to tuning a concert hall to balancing a mix, Alesis graphic EQs give you more features and better audio performance than any units in their price range. Music by you. Graphic design by Alesis. Stereo 1/3-octave digital graphic equalizer Enhanced 24-bit sound quality, 28-bit internal processing At-a-glance display lets you instantly check settings for each band and channel.
