Jamesemt
Just seen this on ebay, and wondered if its a cheapo copy: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MUSICMAN-Stingray-5-...1QQcmdZViewItem What do you think? neepheid
Things in its favour: 6 holes in neck pocket different routing to an OLP MM3 Still, MMs aren't my specialty - I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'm not a mm expert, but it seems OK to me as long as the cracks aren't in the wood. It might be good with a status graphite mm5 neck, but it'll still need a great big ugly mm5 pickguard.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I've just noticed - Location Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia, postage $85 (plus insurance). I'd pass whether its genuine or not.

I suppose its a risk in case the cracks are into the wood, but if they are only through to the finish, then even at £100 it has to be worth it, right?? Machines
I think he means you might not receive it at all.. let alone get it in bad condition. But it does look genuine.

obbm
It certainly looks like a genuine SR5 body. The routing is correct, especially for the phantom coil. It has the treaded pickup screw inserts. Has anyone posted this on the EBMM Forum for comment? But then again it's Malaysia......

Jamesemt
Cheers guys. It puzzles me that the mods decided to move this thread - while it contains an ebay link, I wanted knowledge as to the validity of buying it, not to point it out as a good buy
warwickhunt
So is it just me that thinks there is a bloody great big split from back to front around the upper bout running to the neck pocket? ... he isn't responsible for uninsured items! Who wants to bet that if you buy it that it will get damaged in transit and you'll be making a claim that's going to be damned hard to settle! markytbass
It'll buff right out
It'll go streight onto my fire, still that split will make it easier to break up . Expensive kindling wood. Edited January 22, 2008 by markytbass
