Great condition (minus a small scratch on the neck and some small dings on the headstock finish) and a lovely playing bass. I just need some cash! It has a black scratchplate on but the original chrome one will be included as well. I would like £340 posted in a padded gigbag with insured interparcel delivery! Absolute bargain. No offers and I do NOT want to trade. Sold. Edited March 2, 2011 by soundcheck1
matsjuw Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I'm in love, but in Belgium! Would you be willing to ship?
stingrayPete1977 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Hi, Whats going on with the bridge saddles? the A string is shorter than the E, Have you set the intonation up or has it always been there? Looks a cool bass and its not a problem really but I would say it wants setting up properly mate.
soundcheck1 Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) I've never even noticed that before! I'm the second owner of this bass and haven't had it set up since I bought it so I imagine it must have been the guy I bought it from that set it up like this. Regardless, it doesn't affect the playability or sound of the bass at all, I've never even noticed it! If it bothered someone they could always change it Edited January 18, 2011 by soundcheck1
stingrayPete1977 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) Yes its no biggy really you have had me looking at all my own just in case i was talking jibberish! generally on mine they all run roughly angled backwards with the E (or B ) being longest or furthest away from the neck if you like. Im not the most technical TBH but I think as the saddles run the length of their travel there are a few places where it intonates with itself but not in the same exact scale length of the other strings making the tension slightly different across the whole set. Does that make sense? Do you play any chordal stuff as thats where you would notice it mostly? Edited January 18, 2011 by stingrayPete1977
soundcheck1 Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 It kind of makes sense, but to be honest I don't really know enough about this to understand fully. Just had a play around with it as you've got me all paranoid but there are no problems with intonation or sound or abnormal string tension. I'd like to stress that there is nothing wrong with the bass!
stingrayPete1977 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) It's nothing to worry about mate and a lot of people would set it all up how they wanted and put it back at the same time. Sorry if I have worried you bud you could put a topic up in bass discussion and see what everyone else says (i could be wrong like i said im not an expert but its not how any i have seen are) there might even be someone local who would do it if it needs it for a pint. [/quote] Yeah, looking at the picture I'm almost certain the intonation will be off, unless he's using some very unusual combination of string gauge/action. Still, it's not a big issue. Almost like saying "the bass is not in tune". The adjustment is simple and minor. Very nice bass.
stingrayPete1977 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 None of you saw me looking at a Sub right? I have an alibi and everything my wife must have made the other posts! Bump for the coolest sub I have seen!
soundcheck1 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Reduced from £380 posted to £340. Won't get any cheaper than this! Need the cash soon, so the price won't stay like this for long.
soundcheck1 Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 I'll leave the price like this for a couple more days. If not sold by then the urgent need for the cash will be gone!
soundcheck1 Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 Can't believe the lack of interest at this price!
soundcheck1 Posted February 18, 2011 Author Posted February 18, 2011 Updated with much higher quality pictures.
mcnach Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 This is truly a very beautiful beast ARGH! someone buy it before I do!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hutton Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) I have the twin of this bass. I can't believe it's still here at this price. Edit: I've just noticed it's red and not black like mine. Makes no difference to it being a raging bargain. Edited February 22, 2011 by Hutton
soundcheck1 Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 It is indeed a bargain. I see you're from Keith, do you play in any local bands? I'm from Dufftown!
