JakeBrownBass Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 You know what, can not thank you enough for posting this guy & his band. Straight to the top of my most listened play list! Love it, thankyou again Jake Quote
MikanHannille Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Got his full discography! Totally love his and the band's work. Quote
risingson Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 The bassist is brilliant, great player... in fact the whole band are so tight. But that kind of production and performance leaves me cold. Maybe it's just the sharp musicianship that leaves me wondering where the soul can be found in stuff like this. A few years ago I would have enjoyed watching this but my view on music has changed a lot since then, the whole thing seems too sterile for me and too polished. But hey, different stokes I guess! EskimoBassist Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 SO good, the perfect break that I needed from my essay, which is SLOWLY KILLING ME ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Quote
beardybass Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Fantastic musicianship! No excuse for his hair though. Quote
NJE Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 That level of musicianship and skill is something I dream of achieving one day and I dont think i have ever seen a band as tight as that. Not usually my cup of tea (i like a bit of vocals in my music usually) but that was just frighteningly good and dear lord has that bass player got the funk! Thanks for posting, I am going to check out some more. Quote

dave_bass5 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Lovely. Not really my sort of music but i really enjoyed the tightness and groove. Quote

Oscar South Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Is there a second keyboard in there? I can hear a high synth with a legato lead sound Quote

wotnwhy Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 At first i was thinking 'god i hate that keys player!'. His mannerisms and general vibe just seemed totally out of whack with the rest of the band (the hair too!). He seemed like he loved himself waaay too much and was trying to hard to be the person everyone loves. I still think that. The whole thing sounded like echos of a song by Dirty Dozen Brass Band (can't remember which one right now). So why, oh why, oh why did i enjoy that sooo much...? o,0 Quote
derrenleepoole Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Is it wrong of me to want to punch the blonde keyboard player? Great musicians for sure, but totally leaves me cold. Quote

Oscar South Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Live it'd sound amazing, I don't like the sampled piano tone but everything else is class. Quote
Gareth Hughes Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Digging the playing a lot. And loving the look of the guitar guy with the white Strat. He might be playing the best rhythm in the world, but he totally looks like he just got his guitar at Xmas. Quote
NJE Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) linked to this video I just found Nate Watts in the studio with Brian Culbetson, I hope the link works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl-bVs1INtY Edited January 17, 2011 by NJE Quote
