Dave D Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Does anybody have any recommendations for guitar leads? I've never really given it too much thought, but should really give my new Stingray the best chance when i finally decide on the colour!! Quote
voxpop Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I use The Chord Company Cream cables...very expensive but sound great designed by a bass player. http://www.chord.co.uk/products.php?pg=28 Quote
Lozz196 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Basschats very own OBBM www.bassic-bits.co.uk Fantastic cables, at prices that are the same as what you would pay in a music shop for the ordinary ranges. Coudn`t believe it when I A/Bd my OBBM cable against my trusty old Planet Waves cable - much more even full-bodied sound. Very hard-wearing cables as well, a real quality product. All my cables (inc speaker) are now OBBMs. Quote
Captain Rumble Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) http://www.bassic-bits.co.uk/ Surprised no one else on here has suggested them I type so slowely that 2 others have suggested since I started Edited January 17, 2011 by Captain Rumble Quote
Cat Burrito Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I too have used both OBBM and the Chord Company. Whatever you decide cables are not something players should ever skimp on. If you spend all your hard earned on a decent bass and amp, it is quite simply absurd to then connect them with a £3 cable. And yet people do!?! Quote

lemmywinks Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I use a mix of obbm and homemade ones, all have Van Damme cable with Neutrik connectors. There's a lot of snake oil with cable marketing - you really don't need to spend any more than obbm's prices. His stuff is pro quality for a much lower price than equivalent branded cable. Quote
TheRockinRoadie Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I've just bought an Elixir cable on recommendation from friends, but i wish someone had shown me OBBM's site! I think the layout of the website is brilliant - plain, simple, and to the point. At least i now know where to get my cables from - I think my next purchase will be an OBBM speaker cable for my amp! Doddy Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 We all know what I'm going to say....... Spectraflex. Quote
Paul S Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Another endorsement for OBBM. You could tow a truck with the speak cables I got from him and he is an absolute gent to deal with. Quote

As has been said here, I also A/B'd against my old leads. The difference was astounding. 1 year on, leads all still working and sounding perfect. Buy and you will totally not regret - and great service too! Quote
