faultyy Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I'm trying to trade off an OLP MM3 (http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11884). I'm going to buy some cleaning products tomorrow and was wondering if anyone could reccomend the best thing to clean up the fretboard? Cheers Quote
Machines Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I believe with maple it's quite tough. The dirt ingrains itself into the wood more than it would with a rosewood board. You shouldn't use lemon oil on a maple neck (apparently), look here: http://www.jemsite.com/tech/3other.htm#fbclean Quote

chris_b Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Maple fretboards are usually sealed. Is the varnish still intact or have you worn through it? If it is ok I would use a good quality, chemical free, furniture polish and a duster. I have also used Dunlop Formula 65. Quote
Hit&Run Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 A guitar tech (guitar dr) told me he rates Mr Sheen when I asked him the same question Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 With care, start with a damp cloth, and breath, work your way up form there, might be all you need. Quote
markytbass Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I use a bees wax based balm on my stingray neck, brings it up a treat. Quote
