dub_junkie Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 these pics were posted up by a a member of the musicman forum,Randracula, they're his pics from the weekend. the colour's rootbeer - and I'm wanting a Sterling 5 string like this one but with a rosewood board. Quote
faultyy Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I'd trade my parents for the bongo... their good parents too Quote
Machines Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Lovely colour.. i'd have that Sterling, yummy. Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Yep. Liking the Bongo. Already got an SR5, so the Sterling's only really an aesthetic alteration to me. Still nice, though. I don't like gold hardware. No matter how well I care for it, Gold and Brass suffer dreadfully from my sweaty paws. Quote
nash Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 only one truss rod on the bongo 6er. dont 6ers normally have 2? Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008
only one truss rod on the bongo 6er. dont 6ers normally have 2?
My Streamer LX VI only has one 'rod. It does, however have two non-adjustable reinforcing rods (one either side of the truss-rod) IIRC! That said, it's got a Wenge neck, and they aren't apt to being unduly troubled by humidity/temperature variations. I guess it's also a function of inherent neck stability- If the neck's stable/ adjustable enough with one rod, why complicate it with two? More slender necks may well need two rods. You're right, it's not uncommon. I'm fairly sure I've seen twin rods on Conklin and Yamaha 6-ers, and a lot of customs seem to have them. Quote
Rumble Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 The sterling is absolutely gorgeous in a brown kinda way and looks very classy. The Bongo,.........well, it's still a Bongo and I just don't like 'em no matter how many strings they have. Quote
7string Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Oh man, they're both blinkin' horrible... I just think that lever on the Sterling makes it look kinda cheap... The Bongo is uuurrrr, not matter which colour it's in (mind you, I've never played one). Quote
charic Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I actually like the colours And that bongo 6er has made me wish i had one :'( Question is will myung pick up the bongo 6er now? As he was using a bongo 5 at times Quote

funkypenguin Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I'd quite like a Bongo 6 with the H/H config. instead of the H or H/SC that Myung's been using. They sound amazing regardless of how they look Quote
charic Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Still yet to try a bongo.. hate stingrays... love sterlings.. how odd lol Quote
