Wil Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I just wish they'd reissue the DC bass. That one is nice, though, and Dano basses sound amazing. Quote

Machines Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I'd dig it, but then throw it in the hole and bury it. Quote
Tee Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I bet it doesn't come with that glow around it, because that would be cool. Doesn't sound too bad to me either, for what is a cheap bass. Quote
Happy Jack Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008
Doesn't sound too bad to me either, for what is a cheap bass.
And there's the point, really. I'm not too keen on the Aqua (I prefer the Black) but at that price it would be hard to make a serious mistake. Does anyone know where they're made? At this point, I'm assuming Korea or China. Quote
lee4 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Great sound with a pick.Ca'nt see it being anyones main bass though. Quote
Wil Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Good enough for Fat Mike, good enough for me Quote
setekh Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 (edited) any idea of who sells these? I tried the usual EU stores, but can't seem to find them anywhere.. Edited January 22, 2008 by setekh Quote
Machines Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Looks like a new model. JHS stock Danelectro for the UK... Quote
7string Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I think I saw this on some photos from NAMM. Me also thinks it's based on a Silvertone guitar... Quote
Tee Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Looks like they're "coming soon." I also like the black one. Quote
flip Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008
Good enough for Fat Mike, good enough for me
Damn right, I read that he started playing them after having back issues from his Fenders. He gets a great tone out of those Danelectros! I quite fancy a red one actually, although you have to take the neck off to adjust the relief which would be a pain... I think I'll drop JHS a line to see when/how much etc. Quote
Wil Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 The bassist in a local band I know got his hands on a Dano DC, and when I saw them live the tone was just as good as Fat Mikes. Blew me away, fatter and punchier than any P or J bass. I'd love one in silver sparkle! Quote
Doc B Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I love Danelectros - used to have a 30' scale Baritone single cut that I had modified with a set of grovers and re-tuned to EADGBE like a bass with 2 high strings. Sounded good and played really well. If I'd kept it I would have tried to get a metal bridge though. The control pots were crap too but it's part of the vibe! Quote
tauzero Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I can imaging the phone call to the design department now... "What the hell is this that you've sent me?" "It's the scaled up version of that model you sent us" "Idiot! That was a piece of sky out of my jigsaw puzzle! The design was on the back of the fag packet that was in the envelope!" Quote

LukeFRC Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 ive been tempted to build a dano inspired bass out of plywood.... it could sound amazing. at least it would be different than your normal fender/mm clones or exotic wood brigade Quote
