Just in case you think these were common, this bass is "[b][i]very very rare, this is a rare bass, this is a bit of a rarity[/i][/b]".

That'll be because they're rare. Very, very rare. Everybody loved them but after the initial run of 80, the machine that they were run off on didn't have any spare capacity so it all came to a grinding halt. Ah, like it says in the auction, in fact.

I shall keep an eye on it but I suspect it would overstretch my piggybank.

That's the Mk 1 shape, which was what Fender used for the revival. I've already got one. If you want to sell it, there's almost always someone keeping an eye out for one.
