Bass Combo/rig Advise

Heya guys - i'm looking for a bass amp primarily for gigging small pubs, venues and practice.

I'm from Bournemouth, but study in Falmouth - i play in a rock/metal covers band.

Had a look at Ashdown, Trace Elliot and Fender amps - just not sure which make/model will be for me - Budget is £300, probably looking for a combo...

Any advise is awesome :)
