BigRedX
Dick Venom & The Terrortones come to Leicester. Venue: O’Neill’s, 16-20 Loseby Lane, Leicester, LE1 5DR Also playing: Ten Penny Nail, Panda Youth, Surrender The Coast, Neon Sarcastic and The Sneaks Fist band on at 8.30. As a taster here's a clip of us playing "RockinRollin VampireMan" at our last gig. And a review: "Last on and certifiably insane were Dick Venom and the Terrortones. Difficult to pin down, Venom and company mix in 1950s rock 'n' roll, 1970s punk and the faint impression that anyone getting too close to the stage might get stabbed. It's a bizarre cocktail, one made only weirder by the near six-inch quiff atop Venom's scrawny frame and the band's choice to wear sunglasses onstage despite being indoors at night. They're an undeniably compelling proposition, though. Venom brought his own microphone (and theremin, no less) to give him the run of the venue, even singing while flat on his back between the legs of one 'lucky' woman. You'd struggle to pick out a single song as a highlight - other than one which sounded like the theme song to a James Bond film made by mental patients - but Venom and his crew provided pure entertainment throughout their setlist." BigRedX
Just a reminder that this gig is on tonight. Any BassChatters going please come an say hi! Despite our somewhat intimidating on-stage presence we're very approachable!
bigjohn
You look a bit different with that haircut! Great sound. I was gonna come along, but can't come now. When are you next playing in Nottnum?
BigRedX
Thanks! Actually this gig wasn't one of our best. On-stage sound was fairly murky and we were struggling to hear each other. However we will be playing in Nottingham at Moog on Friday 4th Feb, so hopefully you can catch us there instead. Full details in a new thread.
