clauster
I have to say I tried it next to the BBM and I did prefer it. The Big Muff is best for mental fuzz though, where as I normally like just a bit of of crunch.
Same here. I found the BBM a bit "fizzy", the Blogger seems to suit a P bass more to my ears. At shop volume, the drive didn't seem to do a lot, but at band levels it's great for me. My decision wasn't helped by the fact that I had a guitarist with me who kept telling me all the reviews say the BBM is better The best I tried was the MXR El-Grande, but the first one out of the box out of the box wouldn't work at all and the second would only work on battery (not from any of the three different wall-warts the guy in the shop tried it with). Probably just a couple of Friday afternoon specials, but it put me off trying any more.
cheddatom
I'm going to have to play a bit more with the drive side! I might put the BBM in the lo pass side of my board to fatten things up without the mental top end from the fuzz.
cheddatom
I tried it again last night, this time at a proper volume. When set to "unity gain" the OD side does work, but it's very weird. It sounds like a battery is dying in my bass or something, but then on the fuzz mode it sounds great. There isn't a gate or anything in the OD side is there? Ghost_Bass
My XO Bass Microsynth arived today. I had a quick go at him at my lunch hour and tried it on my pedalboard fed by mt daisy-chain. IT WORKED OK! No problems even though someone sugested it has the same problems as the blogger. In EHX manual they say not to use this pedal with a daisy-chain but i guess they're just trying to sell a few more PSU's... I think the problem with EHX powering pedals mus have something to do with the mA needed to power them. My PSU is a 3000mA (or 3A if you prefer) that i got from evilbay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-STOMPBOX-8-3000m...=item3361769811 It always worked fine and the cable is very long. I recomend it to everybody Maybe the Blogger problem could be as simple as this?

I've not tried the BMS on it recently though a member of staff did demo the standard EHX Guitar Synth recently and they didn't know about the daisy chain issue and it worked fine. It could be that EHX have upgraded the pedal but I'll need to find time to test them to be sure. If anyone else is interested in the Stompbox 8 power supply, they're available direct from our website here: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/stompbo...chain-696-p.asp
clauster
Glad to see this thread generating some discussion for EHX pedals. Update - I'm not putting a board together. Decided I don't like octave down after all so the OC-2 is going back where it came from. That leaves me three pedals and I don't really need the compressor for this project. Back to two pedals, which I can cope with battery power for

Thanks edit: i also love the "L" shaped tips, very usefull on a pedal board! Edited January 26, 2011 by Ghost_Bass
cheddatom
When I tried the blogger I tried it daisy chained on my Godlyke Powerall, which i'm pretty sure should be able to handle it. I swapped one analog dirt pedal out for the blogger, and it wouldn't work. I don't think it consumes that much power?
Ghost_Bass
I don't know the Blogger and i can't try one at the moment. All i know is that the Misrosynth works in a chain. If i ever manage to get my paws on a Blogger i'll try it and post my results.

willyf87
I really dunno what to tell ya!!! It's a pain in the arse really, but its the only pedal on my board that wont daisy chain so I'll let it go for now!!
