Pete Academy
I can play slap bass, but over the last couple of years I've toyed with double thumbing. I'd really like to learn it, but can't seem to stick to a lengthy practise regime. I just keep thinking: 'Is it really necessary?' Maybe I'm just a bit long in the tooth. Anyone else found this when attempting to master a new technique?

paul_5
I started double-thumbing last night, so far so slow...
Doddy
Every the technique that I use was new at some point. It's just a matter if repetition and ultimately becoming comfortable enough to use it without too much,if any, effort. I tend to get the basics down within about an hour, then it's all about refining it. Like everything else,I may never use it on a gig,but it's ready to go if it's needed. bubinga5
i cant double thumb, would love to be able to, maybe soon...much more efficient.. but from experience (as all others)different techniques really dont take that long with patience, (some longer than others) and taking it slow.. methodically.. another feather in your cap and all that Pete.. Pete Academy
It's also whether or not you think it will benefit you. Whenever I see Doddy doing this technique, I think I'll learn it, but then I think: 'Can I be arsed?'
