Raslee
I could with some advice if poss folks -i don't normally do effects until now. I want to have one clean bass guitar signal going direct to my amp and also a signal going to my effects unit ...basically a mix between straight clean signal to my amp and and one going to the effects - both being able to be played together or solo'd. I've got this this Behringer pedal that i haven't tried out yet, namely a AB200 A/B switch, not sure if this i going to allow me to do this or do i needa bypass thingy - how do they work? As i say i want to be able to switch my effects in and out whilst still playing a clean signal direct to my bass amp...ideally the clean signal will be switchable also so that i can run just the effects signal if needs be. Does this make any sense? i can be a bit dumb at explaining myself

EskimoBassist
This could be done with the Morley Blender - a mixable effects loop, controlled by an expression pedal. Youc an go from 100% dry to 100% wet (and everything in between) to taste and switch on the fly by using your foot. Pretty cool, huh? Otherwise you could hit up sfx, he's done a lot of custom work for members on this forum and has many happy customers!

My amp is at our studio at the mo so i am unable to try this (silly Q coming) - when using the effects send and return does the main signal to the bass amp remain on or does it automatically switch off? I'm using a Orange Terror Bass amp.
Raslee
Just been looking at these too: http://www.bargeconcepts.com/vbjr.html & http://www.xotic.us/effects/x_blender/ - look interesting. I've also got a guy offering to build an A/B thats works both on/off or A or B unlike my Behringer pedal and then a Y box to put my signal from my effects to mix with my bypass clean bass sound then to the amp, £73 i think is what he said. Often come up in the FX For Sale thread, typically £40-45 secondhand.
Happy Jack
Arguably the most flexible solution (and a much sexier design than the LS-2) would be an S&M box from Silent Fly here on Basschat.
