Happy Jack
I'll be playing at a special jam session tomorrow night (Wednesday 26th Jan) in honour of Andy Falconer. He's the guy who originally ran the jam at The King's Head in Acton (which subsequently moved to The Drayton Court in West Ealing) and he's the guy who first put me up on stage with a bass in my hands. Unfortunately he has terminal cancer, so all his former jamming regulars are taking over the upstairs function room at The King's Head tomorrow night for a special session. A fair number of these guys are well-known session musicians (people like Sam Kelly and Chester Kamen) so the standard of playing is sometimes very high indeed. And then there's me, of course. If you're interested in an unusual and varied evening's entertainment, come along. There are something like EIGHT bands playing in three hours, and virtually the entire audience will comprise musos, making it one of the friendliest environments imaginable. My band is up first at 8:30pm. I'm also filming & recording the event, so I'll be at the pub from about 7:30pm to set up.
