StevieD_FenderP2009
Hey guys I've managed to bag myself an Aphex Aural Exciter 103A Type C from the 1980's for a mere tenner! Only thing is it apparently doesn't power up. Has anyone ever had an experience with one of these and maybe know why it wont power up? Any suggestions will be majorly appreciated Stevie
Ou7shined
That's a toughy without actually being able to test the thing. It could be anything from a loose wire to being totally goosed. Open it up an have look to see if anything looks loose or scorched.
Happy Jack
One bad thing they're known for is that the stomp-switch mounts direct to the PCB (whatever that is ...) so that rugged stomping can easily damage the board. I don't see how that on its own would prevent it from powering up, but perhaps the board getting knocked about has knocked something else loose? StevieD_FenderP2009
My bad, I should of said, it's th rack mount version not the pedal. I'll open it up when it arrives. Hopefully its completely goosed
Mr. Foxen
Mine had a toasted fuse, start there.
StevieD_FenderP2009
Cheers dude, i'l ltry that when it arrives. I've asked the seller for a list of things he's done to it to see if he's tried any repair work. Hopefully he hasn't so I can just start from square one. To be honest, if i spend £20 getting it repaired, i'm still happy because I was looking at £50 for one anyways.
StevieD_FenderP2009
Right this could be serious then, he's apparently replaced the fuse and it still doesn't power up. I think I'm about to open it up and see nothing but ash when I get it...
