spongebob Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Lemmy the Movie is finally out on DVD! Amazon are doing it for £9.99 at the moment. Ordered mine and it's on the way, and it's apparently fantastic. It must be, it's Lemmy isn't it? Apologies if this has already been mentioned....! Quote
Meenie Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Ive got it on on my Lovefilm list, looking forward to seeing it. Quote
RhysP Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Saw it in the cinema last week & it's very good. Dave Grohl's shameless brown-nosing is a bit stomach churning though. Quote
the_skezz Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Will be ordering this one soon and have a Motorhead night in with my mate Hobo when it arrives Quote
MacDaddy Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I'm gonna do a cinema search and see if it's still playing. Quote
TheRev Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I saw it last month in the cinema. There are some genuine classic moments where your see Lemmy as THE only pure unreconstructed rocker left on the planet and other times when you realise that he's also just an old geezer getting on with his day job. A must see for Motorhead fans and very entertaining for anyone who's heard of Lemmy. Quote
spongebob Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 Got it today. That's Sunday PM sorted after a few cold ones.......! There's a 2nd disc with 200+ minutes of extras....think I'll do that in a separate setting! Quote
lojo Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I wont be buying this, im already sad I sold my ric Quote
ezbass Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Mrs Ezbass is away at the w/end and it's on Virgin Movies on demand. A no brainer methinks. Quote
robocorpse Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I went to the premiere of this and thoroughly enjoyed it (except for the brown nosing, that was a bit annoying), DVD extras are probably as good as the film. My one gripe, there wasn't enough about Girlschool or The Damned, both bands very close to Lemmy and a big part of Motorheads life in the early days. Quote
blamelouis Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Saw it last week and really enjoyed it. Some good stories but i kept thinking "he's gonna be dead before the years out " Quote
robocorpse Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah, sadly I had the same recurring thought for a day or so after seeing it, and promising myself I'd get to more than 1 date on the next tour rather than just the local one. Quote
munkonthehill Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 I just finished watching the lemmy film. Is he not mega rich?????? Cos judging by the way he talks about money and the way he lives, he seems to be a wee bit hard-up hahaha. I googled his net worth and it came back as $30million. Quote
ezbass Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Watched it last night and I was a bit disappointed. Problem was that listening to too much Planet Rock had built it up in my expectations. I'm not saying it was bad, far from it, but for my liking there were too many talking heads and not enough of the man and band, the exception being Hawkwind and Metallica. Lemmy's apartment was a revelation, that place is worthy of a very old lady who can't throw anything away (probably not the dagger collection though ). Loved the joke about "How do you make a dead baby float?" I howled. Quote
spongebob Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Watched it yesterday, and I loved it. Great insight into a great man. What a change to actually see a band that actually mean it, and live to do what they love. I really want to catch them next tour...I've been a fan for 20+ years, but haven't caught them live sine Wurzel left. I really think Lemmy's right when he says the current line-up is their best. Live footage makes them seem like a powerhouse! I'd really go get the new album, 'The World Is Yours' sharpish. It's fantastic! Quote
Algae Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Just watched this last night. Yes very good. He is a rock and roll god and blimey has he got a lot of knives !!!! Hope they do a directors cut version with twice as much stuff in it. Quote
