I have recently joined a 60's/70's/80's Mod band and managed to pick up a beautiful Rickenbacker 4003 in a trade.

I've ordered a Hipshot replacement bridge for it as I really don't like the standard Ric bridge but am very happy with it.

It's very light, in superb condition and does the classic Foxton thing as well as the deep bassy McCartney thing too.

I think I may need to get the earthing checked and insulate a bit as the single coils are quite noisy (like a Jazz bass) in certain environments but other than that, it's wonderful!

Now, where's that Pick....

Evening John, get off my Pino! Oo er, missus

Hey Nick, that's a looker and a half. Good score mate although I also loved the look of the 62ri Jazz you traded for this

Nice bass Nick. Not my cup of tea but she sure is pretty :)

By the way, your old white Precision, bloody amazing. A keeper for sure and my main bass until I get a Stingray fretless which will then share No.1 duties. Never thought I would fall for a Precision so much to be the bass thats out and played the most.

Well I've given up saying "this is definitely a keeper" as my track record proves otherwise :)

I reckon 9lbs at a push. The bodies are really thin and there's a fair amount of air under the pickguards for routing.

Good looking Rik Nick :) Reminds me of the hours I searched that London town for one back in '73, every one I tried was 'orible to play, ended up buying the Gherson Blonde, wish I still had it now. It cured me of Rik love though :) I've never fancied one since.

Cheerz, John.

BTW Good luck with the mod band

Between about 8 and 10lbs, most being about 9.

Well after gigging it tonight, I've got back the terrible pains I had in my left arm. :)

Not very happy and exactly the problem I had before. Slim necks seem to cause massive problems for me. Not happy at the moment

Rickenbacker anyone? :)

They are beautifull basses, and the fireglow looks stunning, unfortunately, I just cant get on with em.

Had two and sold em both.

Good luck with the arm
