nick
Hi All, Thought I'd post a bit on an SFT clone I've been building for Bassbod This is the third one I've built so far, previous two I did on veroboard, but thought I'd try a ready made PCB from Madbean Got the already painted box from Banzai (Duncan wanted purple ). Drilled holes etc... just waiting the knobs to arrive. Wired up the switch, jacksockets & pots. As opposed to the schematic, went for a reverse 1m log for gain & 100k linear for volume, as with previous builds all the warmth & grindy action was bunched up at the top end of the pots travel. The build worked great first time no issue. However, as per many recommendations on Freestompboxes & Madbean, this thing opens up with more headroom when powered by 18 volts. So I'm going to add this little voltage doubler inside. Next steps; wiring up the voltage doubler, tidy up wires with some wraps, fit knobs, battery compartment... To be continued. Gareth Hughes
Nice one. I love my SFT - tis a lovely pedal, with an inspiring sound. Fair play - I'm in awe of folks that can get their head around stuff like this. I regularly plague Bigwan with newbie questions and 'what if?'s. Any soundclips coming?
