KennysFord Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Wow.... I've been off the forum for a few years and it's saddened me greatly to see these stalwart names on here of friends past who are no longer with us... RIP to all of them and condolences to their friends and loved ones... Very sad. 1 Quote

Kiwi Posted March 15, 2024 Author Posted March 15, 2024 Oh bugger, that's a real shame. I bought a Jazz bass off him back in 2013. Quote

Steve Browning Posted April 16 Posted April 16 SamIAm I had been concerned about Sam for some time and decided to see if the web could provide an answer. Unhappily so. It seems she has left us. The link is to a MacMillan tribute, so I guess we can assume how she passed. How very sad. https://samanthamargerison.muchloved.com/ 33 Quote

ezbass Posted April 16 Posted April 16 That’s so sad. She had been so unlucky with the flat fire and seemed to be getting back on her feet and now this. 😢 4 Quote

She worked as a cardiology research nurse for the last 21 months, so it may also be related to her work interest. I see on her LinkedIn she was forced to give up her job as an ICU nurse because of a lower back injury. I figured there might be more on her X-account, but I can't read it as I don't have one. Hellzero Posted April 16 Posted April 16 A very sad loss, we exchanged a bit after the flat fire and she was a lovely and kind person. May she rest in peace. 3 Quote
Velarian Posted April 16 Posted April 16 This is very sad news indeed. I remember the terrible time she had with the fire and how this community stepped in with help and support. Her commitment to nursing and also her technical abilities were notable. She was the same age as me so that really hits home. May she rest in peace. 🕊️ 5 Quote

Cato Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) Genuinely taken aback by this, she was a real asset to the forum, not just chatting on the main threads, she had mad electronics and programing skills skills and posted some really cool stuff in the build diaries, especially her first attempt at building her own bass. A huge loss. Edited April 16 by Cato 8 Quote
miles'tone Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Such sad news... Sam was a lovely person and valued member of our community. I had many a good chat with her around the time of her flat fire. RIP Sam, you will be missed x 4 Quote

D'oh! It is of course heart-related. Quote
tauzero Posted April 17 Posted April 17 That's a real shame about Sam. I messaged her a week or two ago to see how she was - that explains why there was no answer. 1 Quote

Paul S Posted Friday at 07:25 Posted Friday at 07:25 So sad to hear. I had a couple of meet-ups with Sam and, as anyone else who did, felt as though I'd known her for years after our long chats. One time in snow and ice at Thurrock services and we both got frozen We all know that Life isn't fair and Sam certainly had her hand dealt from the bottom of the deck. 4 Quote
