JamieCooper91
Hey guys, I've been looking at overdrive and distortion pedals to add to my live pedal setup for my P bass. I've listened to some demo's on youtube and I think it'll sound ace with my American Telecaster but I've not been able to find any reviews with people using it with their bass. I love the idea of two separate foot switches so I could have my clean tone, a little gritty sound with the overdrive channel then a heavier distortion or blended when I need it. I think Merchant City Music in Glasgow stock them so I'll hopefully try one out next week but I was wondering if anyone here owns one and could help me out here. Seems a bargain for the price even if I just used it for the tele and recording in the band but I'd love to use it live. Still open to suggestions for other overdrive/distortion pedals for bass though, mostly I just need it for a little extra grit but I'd like to be able to push it as far as some of the tracks on Daisy Noro - Brand New http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JEdoJr5h5A Cheers! Ghost_Bass
I use the Fulltone Bass Drive Mosfet for that same result. It will definitely be a more bass-friendly pedal... Edited February 2, 2011 by Ghost_Bass
JamieCooper91
Cheers for the heads up on Talkbass, did manage to find a few soundclips and reviews on there. It's not really what I was hoping for, if I do buy it for guitar I can see some use for the bass but doubt it live. Still I'll try and get to MCM so I can try it out properly. Took away too much bass and wasn't really the tone I was hoping for in the soundclips on Talkbass. manwithaxe
I use a homebrew hematoma. Has a lovely distortion (that you can blend and EQ) and the added bonus of a boost as well. The boost can be on your clean signal of the distortion.
