Truckstop Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I too appreciate gloss/lacquered necks. My fretless P feels lovely! Truckstop Quote

Modern finishes which don't have them look very poor in comparison. Lacquer necks seem faster to me too - as does the black finish on my old Westone Spectrum - compared to a the modern finish on my Squier P/J. The lacquer finish on my T-40 is really good and this makes the neck easy to play, despite being somewhat chunky (but quite flat in profile). Quote

Faster, slicker, and easier to clean which gets my vote. Quote
Jerry_B Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Mind you, I may have to retract my previous statement a bit as the Yamaha BB414 I have has a modern finish and is very good indeed Quote
lojo Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011
Yep, one gone and the fretless is going next Saturday. I felt like a change and I found a gorgeous Jazz at Far East Guitars. Still, you know what will happen. It will be in the FS section in a few months because I'll be after a Steinberger or summat
Was that the red 62 RI ? Quote
