davideleira Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Hi. I have an Ashdown MAG 300 and an Ashdown MAG 210 cab, and I'm looking for a 4x10. I have 200/250eur to spend. I was thinking in the Ashdown MAG 410, but yesterday I saw an used Markbass STD 104 for 250euros! I never played markbass stuff, and that cab is on Italy... I have seen that Markbass is transparent, and the Ashdown warm, with a different "voice". I love the Ashdown's sound, but it seems not as loud that i would expect, or it's because i'm using only a 2x10... What do you think people? What's the best choice in this price range? Quote
xgsjx Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I'd grab that MB cab, it's a bargain (provided there's nothing wrong with it). You could always sell it for a profit if you don't like it! Quote
davideleira Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Yes, I could sell, but ... What's the best choice? Yes, the MB is a bargain, but isn't something better? Quote
xgsjx Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 The MB cabs are (apparantly) pretty clear sounding cabs & it's down to your amp & bass (& any fx you have) to produce the sound that comes out of it. To me, that is a good thing. I prefer MB to Ashdown for both sound quality & weight (I tried a few different ashdown rigs before I settled for a MB combo). If I had spare funds I'd ask you to buy it for me. Quote
indiegrungesound Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 You have a decent head that you like the sound of. It will be powering a high end cab. If you have the money, get it! Quote
davideleira Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Well, I will try to buy it, if the seller can send to Portugal. If he don't, I will think about an Ashdown MAG 410 or a Hartke VX 410 or 410 TP... Thank you guys! Quote
davideleira Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) I have search for Ashdown head + Markbass cab, if anyone have, but nothing. Ashdown MAG 300 + Markbass STD 104HF + Ashdown MAG 210, it will sound like what?... Ps: Is this an old one (one of the firsts) or a special edition? Edited February 6, 2011 by davideleira Quote
davideleira Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 No one has an idea or opinion? Quote
xgsjx Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 That looks like one of the older models. But if that is a current pic, it looks like it's been well looked after. Quote
