School of Rock Bass

Watched 'School of Rock' on telly tonight and was interested in the bass that the girl was playing. I've no idea what it is though, but I'm sure someone here will. Both the guitars were Gibsons so I thought that maybe this might be too.

Anyhoo, I've googled a photo of the bass:

Looks like a Les Paul bass. or a derivative. There are Gibson and Epiphone versions.

Close but no cigar - the cutaway is a different shape, there are two "f" holes and the tuners have plastic buttons. It looks more like an old framus star bass to me.

Looking at the pictures i think it's some kind of Hofner Club Bass ??

I'm sure its a Framus Star Bass - look at the body shape & headstock on this one. The only difference I can see seems to be the pickguard:

If it is a Framus Star Bass then it's the small body short scale version, not what Bill Wyman played. This was my 1963 Framus Star Bass extracted from the 1964 band picture

I found the photo via google pictures rather than the bassgirls web site otherwise I would have spotted my mistake - possibly...
