Bass solo albums

Certainly not solo, but perhaps in the spirit of the request, how about Mike Watt and Kira Roessler in Dos?

Uno Con Dos 1989 compilation of two earlier records.

Justamente Tres 1996

Both playing bass, Kira usually singing, Watt occasionally.

John Paul Jones' albums "zooma" and "the thunderthief".

no solo bass either but he almost anything you hear is bass besides the occasional drums and guitar. and he plays 4, 5, 6, 10, 12, strings, slided, lap steeled, e-bowed, distorted, whatever. It's a one man bass orchestra.
If you want something a little different, I caught Ralf Gauck at Bass Day and he did a series of arrangements of well known pop tunes on solo bass, mostly Beatles, but some Police too. Nice bloke too:

This is probably more of what you're after. He has some CD's out too.
Awesome.

^ I've just learn this Cello Suite based on your recommendation here, so cheers! :-)

Nice piece of music and enjoyable to play - makes for a damn good finger 'warm up' too.

Thanks Kev - I'm really glad you're enjoying the music.

Have you found http://music.stevelawson.net - pretty much everything I've ever released is there, including two duo albums with Trip Wamsley - all priced 'pay what you think it's worth' and fully streamable too.

:)

Just watched the Michael Manring one and thought "Bloody hell, he's taking forever tuning that bass up..." Then I realised he'd started... :)

There are four cool solo piece on Bryan Beller's first album 'View' including a great take on Pattitucci's
'Backwoods'.
The rest of the album is great too. One of the best 'bass player' albums around (his second 'Thanks in Advance'
is killer aswell.)
