evilLordJuju
I've got the coral blue SG bass. Paid close to £600 (including tax and postage) from the states. Its a beautiful bass! These were initially ordered for the Japanese market only - but they seem to be now leaking out elsewhere... Sounds great too - nowhere near the extremes in sound of a 60s EB3, but far more manageable in your average band situation. Even the case is beautiful.... bassboy115
there not the worst bass ive ever seen but they would prob look better witha matching headstock. Id still prefer one in the above colour

Huw
It´s funny but I can´t help thinking that a Fender P or J would look great in any of those finishes.
Though, the pink is much closer than that picture. Those SGs look great; candy pink for the win!
Faithless
I don't simply like the look of those axe-shaped basses, but, even if I would like em, the cut by the neck is horrible.. I mean, it's a true pain to access "high" things of this gu*tar.
G-bitch
They're all f***ing ugly, but that's nothing to do with the colour I like a bit of brightness, ideally a sparkle.
Shaggy
Thought I'd add some yang to this thread:
What's the bridge/tailpiece on that EB?
neepheid
What's the bridge/tailpiece on that EB?
It's the Gibson 2-point bass bridge with nylon saddles and a string mute it looks like. http://www.gibsonbass.com/2pointbridge.php Used approx 1967 - 1973. Replaced with the 3-point bridge (mmm, stilts )
evilLordJuju
And that picture really demonstrates one of the key problems with that bridge. The silk windings often go over the saddles, hence the need to cut it back a bit. I've had to do this a few times; it's ill-advised , but i've had no problems so far. They do tilt a bit too, sometimes - not so bad with the under-bridge mute, and a lot of people took them off and replaced with a badass in the seventies or eighties. If you replace the worn hex screws that hold the bridge to the posts, they normally sit ok - failing that i've seen random pieces of cork etc stuffed under the front end, which also seems to do the trick. There are some more older Gibson bass bridge descriptions on my site
