waynepunkdude Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 If we going to have colour threads why not one for the best looking neck there is? I have a few, not the best pic and there are 2 rosewoods but it's a start. Quote
gary mac Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Good idea Wayne. I think my fav would have to be the neck/fretboard on the Overwater Jazz at the Bass Merchants. I started a thread about it last week. Most stunning bit of maple I've seen and the block inlays were things of beauty. Seeing as you have a VMJ I won't post a pic of mine. None of my others have block inlays, although the jap neck on my bitsa is a cracker even if it does only have dot markers. Quote
Raggy Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 That green P/J is feckin stunning. Nice job Wayne. Quote
willyf87 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 i can't work out whether a black pick guard on the green bass would make it even better!! Quote
wotnwhy Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Maple and blocks you say? Will have to take a close up so you can appreciate the subtle birdseye and wenge in all it's glory! Quote
Bassassin Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I do like a bit of maple/blocks action, me: [attachment=71584:csledit.jpg] [attachment=71585:stbgtfull3.jpg] [attachment=71586:pink1200.jpg] Leaning more towards pearl blocks at the moment - the Seethrough P would've had pearl but the neck got lost in the post. Good old ParcelFarce... Jon. Quote

Precision style might look ok, I don't think I would do it personally. Still thinking black scratchplate!! nice basses though, are they all fender/squiers? Edited February 8, 2011 by willyf87 Quote
LawrenceH Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Blocks and binding are the t*ts. Gotta go with pearloid myself though... [attachment=71613:J_bass.jpg] Quote

The J pic's obsolete already, it now has cream pup covers & a black pearl plate, and the P is destined never to be gigged, being a 14lb spine-mangling monster! J. Quote

Buzz Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Well as Gary pointed out a VMJ has already been posted, I shan't post mine either. Quote
