XPAULUSX
I'm after a power amp, basically, my head has been in getting repaired for about 18 weeks now. It's a bit of a joke I know but the fella fixing it has apparently been let down by a supplier! So I'm thinking of buying myself a power amp, and using my vt deluxe as a pre. Trouble is I want something of decent quality. I want to use it with my svt 410hlf which has an RMS of 500 watts at 4 ohms. Can anyone recommend me a decent power amp? Price ain't really an issue but something between 200 and 400 would be around what id be willing to pay. Cheers Paul
casapete
I've used a few QSC amps over the years with no problems ever. My band currently use the PLX series for PA, and they've been excellent. There is the QSC GX5 model - 2x700watts into 4 / 850 watts bridged into 4 ohms - currently on ebay for £350 new, with free postage. Its reasonably light at 26lbs too, and 2U size for your rack. Should do the job for you, and will hold its price reasonably well for when you next want to have a change!
