waynepunkdude
I never thought I'd see the day. I picked this up last night I know it's a Rockbass but I wasn't going to dive in with a full German jobby. Initial thoughts, I have to get used to the neck but the tone is wonderful with the bass and treble turned up a little. Quick question what do the front 2 knobs do? Excellent The most recent necks from 2009 are like the best Jazz you've ever played, that one will be a bit clubbier but still Jazz nut width. Is it active? The knobs from front to back should be Vol (pull for passive) / Pickup Pan / Treble / Bass Looking forward to seeing you with a German one eventually! Clarky
They are all coming out of the woodwork! Despite my well known Fender-itis, I once had a Warwick - a Thumb 5 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;#entry1117628

lemmywinks
Great stuff, a nice looker and what a bargain too! It's interesting playing a Warwick after a while on F-style basses. I picked up mine again after playing Jazzes for months and it's so hard to put down. The modern Warwick neck shape is the most comfortable for me, if i was ordering a custom bass in i'd take the Warwick neck in and say "copy that!". mart
+1 to that. I've got Warwicks from the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s, and it's the 2010 that has the best neck for me. It's simply fantastic.
waynepunkdude
I have a problem though, the bridge pick-up isnt working, I've looked in the back but the electrics are a mind f***.
lemmywinks
Does the volume push/pull for passive mode? If so does it work passive?

mart
Forgive me if this sounds patronizing, but have you 1) got the first control (volume) on full? 2) got the second control (blend) fully anti-clockwise? Unfortunately, yes, the wiring on the active models is a bit complicated. You bought this off a fellow basschatter, right? Have you consulted with them? It doesn't seem likely that this has suddenly gone wrong in transit. Edited February 9, 2011 by mart

mart
The wiring from the pickups shouldn't be too complicated: one ground wire, one live wire (white, I think) going to the balance control, and one wire going to the battery (red, I think). I'd check the red connection first - I'd suspect a dodgy power supply would be more likely than a break within the pickup. If it's any help, I think you want diagram SP RB 120R from this page: http://www.warwick.de/modules/infos/info.p...17090&cl=EN

waynepunkdude
Been quoted £40 to fix it, would it be fair to ask the seller for half?
