Such a bargain!!!![/quote] Unfortunately no Id love a mint green or fiesta red version. I have a normal 2 band Ray which is super super light and pretty, so I think im sticking with that. Have you seen the new Roasted Neck Matching Headstock Gold Classic Rays?! Its like a super package! Quote
MB1 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 MB1. Shall just pretend i havent seen that! Again Quote
hubrad Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Wow! I don't do frets, and it's ages since I did 4-string, but that is seriously gorgeous. Go on CDB, you know you want to! Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 There's only one thing putting me off.... Can anybody guess?? All the stingray's ive owned or played suffered from quite sh*te G strings!!! I swear i'd be a dedicated Ray player if it wasnt for this issue (may not affect all rays) :-/ Quote
Happy Jack Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 WTF? Some extremely bad photographs of a bass (hint: don't photograph a black bass against a black background) located in California, which will cost £1000 before shipping and taxes ... what's so great? Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 The fact that u'll probably pay about £1200 all in for a near £1900 bass (its a classic series so more expensive than standard Ray) I bought my big al from them turned out to be a great deal Quote
mart Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Am I the only one who looks at that bass (the one on ebay) and thinks "penguin"? It just needs some eyes and a beak .... Quote

Musicman20 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Yep it is a premium Classic Ray. Hence the high price. Re: the weak G string issue. This is something I think, (although obviously not all) people can imagine. They presume before playing it that the G is weak. Ive had 2 90s Rays, sold them, I now have a new 2EQ Ray and a 3EQ on order. Ive never come across a weak G string. I personally think it might be a 3EQ 'EQ' issue, if it does exist...eg...its getting lost with that powerful onboard EQ somewhere. My Ray 5 doesnt have it, (although I hear its never been an issue on 5ers) but I can understand people are wary. I dont think the 2EQ is prone to it? Or am I wrong?! Argh. Either way, dont worry about it. Quote
