MacDaddy Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 If you had to describe the style of this song what would you say? Please pigeon hole it and give it a label http://www.myspace.com/561894423 It's a demo using the resources available (so in future it doesn't have to be a female vocalist) but you should get the idea. ta. Bloodaxe Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I went for 'Disco' at first, but then settled for 'whatever sub-genre you'd pigeonhole Blondie & The Eurythmics in'. This Genre Generator turfed up 'Global Techno-Funk' which is vaguely appropriate, whereas this one came up with 'modern world miami power trance'... which isn't. Sorry. Not much help. As you were. Carry on. Quote
Blademan_98 Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I'd go with the Eurythmics type of thing. Good strong beat. Bit of distortion with background of keyboard. Pop Rock? Liked it anyway! Quote

Great fun song, enjoyed it. The vocals sound good. If I was to be critical... the drum sounds aren't as good as the rest. Slightly less grating / more mellow guitar solo sound would be good. Quote

Lord Sausage Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 It says Powerpop on your Myspace. So someone has already done it for you. Quote
ElCapitan Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 It's kind of Survivor meets the Eurythmics. Quote

There seems to be agreement on the 80's influence. I think that's fair, so long as I manage to be 80's influenced rather than stuck in the 80's? Quote
TheGreek Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Post/neo 80's funk rock? I loved the feel and the vocals - good song!! Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I'm getting big hair and shoulder pads. But enough about me! Quote
MacDaddy Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 i've changed the song, again it was using the resources available - so male vocalist this time. This is the last one I'm putting up so I'll leave you all alone soon @ alim, the guitar solo is just as grating Quote
