I am proud to announce that my new Super J is completed and ready to be shipped, I've got some great shots from the factory before it is shipped. I think it looks great. It will come with the parchment cream pickguard fitted, but I have also ordered the pearloid one so once it's here I can tell up close which one is to be kept on the bass.

Meantime here are the shots of the finished bass!

What's preamp in it?
Active / Passive Glockenklang 2-band. Passive treble auto switches

this from their website

"Electronics on Prima Artist, Lee Sklar Signature, Z Series, Super J and Afterburner II
Rotary switch
All Dingwall basses (except Combustion) feature a 4-position rotary pickup selector. The pickup combinations are bridge pickup soloed, both in parallel, both in series, neck pickup soloed.

Pre-amp - In the past we’ve used Bartolini, Aguilar and now Glockenklang pre-amps. These are all top-notch, high-quality pre-amps. What we like about the Glockenklang pre-amps is the smooth and subtle tone shaping and the Active/Passive treble control. We’ve spent a lot of time perfecting the natural tone of our basses so that they don’t need a lot of tone adjustment. The Glockenklang really fits well with this philosophy. The Active treble boosts and cuts as expected in active mode but when the pre-amp is switched to passive mode, the control is switched to a passive cut control. This is essentially like having two basses with two distinct characters. One active and one passive."

f*** me! That's amazing :) I love everything about it. Apart from the extra string which for me would just be a thumb rest. Sleepless nights set in yet?

Of course I am very keen to get it, but the sleepless nights are well taken care by the other 2 gorgeous Dingwall I've got

I think I would almost give my right arm for a 5 string prima artist.

Well it wouldn't look bad in your collection, if you're man enough :) :)

perhaps if you un-order one or two of the 35+ basses you seem to have on order since time began you might be able to afford it. lol

Come and try mine next time they let you loose in London, I am sure you will fall in love with the AfterBurner II if you tried it. 10 out of 10 of my bass playing friends who have tried it think of it as a MusicMan killer. "Woooooo it's totally Cocoa Pops, mate!" one of them said, it snaps, crackles and pops! :)
