The absence of the headstock means less leverage on your shoulder, smaller cases or gigbags, less mass on your strap. Anyway, back to basses! As you can see, the body on the 34" model is slightly longer: this, in order to reach the beginning of the neck without stretching your left arm too much. Here, in the Scorcio 32", the upper horn can be shorter and the whole body is smaller and lighter; in the 34" scale, on the other hand, you need a longer horn for better balance and for the first frets to be closer to you. PS (if there was a ducking behind the sofa icon I'd be using it about now) PPS: that ACG Harlot with ebony top that OBBM shows on the first page of this thread is absolutely beautiful and is what I will buy if i ever get a spare few grand, it will definitely have a headstock though Something like a hybrid of these two below. Is that an issue?[/quote] Sit the bass on the ground without a stand is the worst thing you can do to a bass! 70% of repairs in my shop come from a bass falling for improper "resting". We discussed it and for various reasons I went for a "plain" maple, although Martin kindly found the most flamed piece of "plain" maple that he had. The top on that was destined for a Sei Millenium but I asked very nicely and managed to snag it. Wonderful, wonderful piece of buckeye. I miss it dreadfully (and the blue LEDs!)!
