EBMM Stingray 3EQ GONE

Here we have an absolutely lovely Stingray, bought this new last August so I'm preferably looking for trades - I don't want to lose too much on the money side of things...

It's an absolutely cracking bass, fantastic build quality, superb tone, gorgeous sunburst finish over swamp ash, with a rosewood fingerboard on a quartersawn maple neck. Feel-wise it is fantastic; rolled fingerboard edges, quite light (which is pretty unheard of for a Stingray), a really fast, satin-finished neck and really comfy and responsive to play. I've set it up recently as I've put roundwounds on it; it has been wearing flats for the last few months. The action is nice and low - a smidge over 2mm at the 17th fret.

The sound is great - really snappy, lots of growl, punch and bite, everything a good Stingray should be. And it doesn't have a weak G string! :)

As for it's condition, I'd describe it as 9.7/10 - it really is 'as new' but with a few scratches on the pickguard, and a tiny little scratch on the base. This isn't nearly as bad as it looks in the photo, (damn you flash photography...) There are no 'dings' to speak of. It also comes with the Music Man hardcase.

I absolutely love this bass, but I just cannot get on with active electronics nowadays - my OCD won't let me stop fiddling with the EQ! Therefore I'm looking for a good Fender Jazz, preferably a straight swap for an American vintage reissue 62, or a road worn, standard US or Japanese with a little cash my way. If you're interested, let me know what you've got, but I'm not looking for anything with more than 4 strings, a battery or no fretwire. :)

As I said above, I would prefer a trade, but for a sale I'd be looking for £900 ono, as it really is in fantastic condition; you could pretty much think of it as saving £400 on a new one!

Sorry for the flash photography, the lighting in here isn't great for photos...

Very pretty :)

I would trade it with my fender jazz (japan)* in an heartbeat, but I'm based in Holland.

That's seriously nice... I really want to trade in person though; want to make sure I'm getting a cracking jazz! To be fair, I bet it would be as it's Japanese, but I just want to be sure. Sorry mate, this is just a really good bass, and I don't want to end up with something which is good, but just doesn't have the same quality feel as this, and I end up selling it a few months later.

And of course, that's a two-way street; feel is such a personal thing. :)

Cheers mate. Trades now edited for more detail; preferably looking for US reissue 62 jazz, or Road Worn / MIA / CIJ with cash my way.

Or anything jazz shaped, be it Lakland, Shuker, Sandberg, etc. as long as it's passive! :)
