niceguyhomer
Just looking for a back up bass and trying as many basses as possible. I've tried the BB415 and BB615 but this new BB425 looks promising but I can't find one anywhere. Anyone seen one hanging up in a shop or better still tried one? dannybuoy
Only seen em on Thomman.de, but kind live to try one too to see if it's worth the upgrade from the BB415.
niceguyhomer
It certainly looks good - better neck and all that but there is a bit of a jump in price.

AndyTravis
The 424's are fantastic basses, not seen a fiver yet, but i'm a huge fan of the thinking on the entire new crop of BB's. Wish I had the dough for a 2024x
niceguyhomer
Played a couple of 424s today and apart from the missing string, they were quite nice. TBH, having played them, I wouldn't want to order one without playing / checking one first, they were a little bit ropey in a good value bass kinda way. dannybuoy
The 1024X / 1025X is supposed to be pretty much the same thing but without the exotic voodoo wood treatment, for less than half the price. Never seen one in the flesh though, although I really like the chrome pickguard on the X models.
niceguyhomer
Yeh - seen them dannybuoy, I think Bass Direct sell them. I think I need to go there and check 'em out.
Telebass
Tried the 425. Loved it. Ordering one next week!
MartyBRebelMC
I tried a 425x in Andertons a while back and thought it was superb with a very good B string, also had a brief try of the 1025x at BassDirect. Superb bass but just a bit too full on for my taste... I'd say a perfect high octane rock bass, the bridge pickup is incredibly hot and brutal (in a good way)! M-N-Y
Homer, How's it going? Hope you remember me as markybass from a previous life. I did give up playing bass for a short while but I'm pleased to say I have a new bass and I'm boring the family to death (again). You can try the BB424,425, and 1024 and maybe even 2024/2025 at Promenade Music in Morecambe. They certainly have the 424,425,1024 in as I saw them a few days ago. The 1024 they have in is truly awesome, one of the nicest basses I have ever played. Plus Gary who runs the bass dept is one of the nicest guys around;prices are dead keen to 424 is sub £400. All the best, Mark. Edited December 27, 2011 by M-N-Y
