Grand Wazoo Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Some chap - with very good artist skills - on the Dingwall forum made 2 sketches of a quasi- 50's Precision Bass with a Dingwallesque fan fret design. You know, if they produced that as standard, I would undoubtedly be all over it. Wouldn't you? Check it out!! It' very Dusty Hill (ZZ Top) it's even got a reversed headstock, me likey. Quote
Bassassin Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Definitely would - that's just the sort of skewed take on traditional designs that appeals to me. Maple/pearl blocks on mine, though. Jon. Quote
Ou7shined Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 That second pic has an Ecsher-esque quality to it. The Impossible Bass. Very cool but it needs a new p/g. Quote
neepheid Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Far be it from me to stand in the way of progress, but yuck, no thanks. Quote
Hobbayne Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Looks like its been beaten with an ugly stick! and then some!! Quote
purpleblob Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 That's a really disorientating looking instrument - I feel like I'm looking at it through a fairground mirror. Not for me I'm afraid, but I'm all for different designs Quote
danny-79 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Interesting concept but naw not for me Quote
Bassassin Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'd take it a bit further & have it semi-hollow with an f-hole, Tele Thinline stylee. Think I'd want a lighter wood top (to go with the maple board I'd have) & a cream pearl scratchplate. J. Quote
