waveydavy Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Picked this up recently from Graham (grayn) on the forum. Fantastic bass, however I just cant get to grips with playing 5 string (this isn't the first time I've tried). [attachment=72622:Overwater_J_series.jpg] Looking to trade for a similar quality 4 string, Ideally a 4 string version of the Overwater. I know they are thin on the ground so I'd consider other 4 strings Comes in an Overwater moulded light flight style case. [attachment=72623:Overwate...es.jpg_2.jpg] [attachment=72624:Overwate...series_3.jpg] Thanks to Graham for the the photos from his listing. Edited February 28, 2011 by waveydavy
JTUK Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Two things. 5 string isn't an easy transition, IME. I know some say they managed it effortlessly but it took me 18 months to get comfortable and a further couple of years to really feel like flying. and this is a stunning looking bass, IMO A friend of mine LOVES his.
waveydavy Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Just to clarify a couple of measurements- The scale length is 35 inches. String spacing measured centre to centre is 19mm at the bridge and 9.5 mm at the nut. Nutwidth is 46 mm.

dmccombe7 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 This is a nice bass. I only started 6 stringers just over a year ago after 33yrs on 4's and I'm still getting to terms with my Overwater. I bought mine more as a challenge to myself but its great fun learning after all these yrs. It would be a real shame to let this go especially as they are relatively rare. Good luck though Dave
waveydavy Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 Thanks for the comments. I really wish I could get to grips with playing 5 string. This really is a fantastic bass- I just cant get to grips with the extra string.
jwbassman Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Overwaters are ace - good luck with your trade - I don't have a 4 to trade otherwise I'd be interested, always fancied one of their jazz basses, just got my two Overwater 5ers, unless you fancy a US Fender P bass...

Looks like it !
waveydavy Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 I'm not really looking for a precision at the minute but thanks for the offer. As David pointed out the Overwater has an active circuit.
slapierro Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Any chance for a straight sale??? how would be the cost? thanks!
