johnDeereJack Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Hi Folks, I have a project I'm working on just now and was looking for a jazz bass ground strap - ala Fender's Jaco tribute bass - but am unable to find one. (Angela.com were the only retailers that came up in a google search but are currently out of stock. http://angela.com/jazzbassbridgegroundingstrap.aspx) As this is the case I've decided to go ahead and just make one using adhesive copper tape. My question is about the width of the strip. If I was to make it look 'Period Correct' how wide would I have to make it? Does anyone know the exact dimentions? Thanks, JDJ Quote
wesfinn Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 They were all cut by hand at fender. There was no set dimension for them. They were alot thinner than they are on the reissues though and tend to dovetail out under the bridge for better contact. Quote
johnDeereJack Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Thanks for the info wesfinn. The grounding strip is purely for aesthetics and will serve no real purpose so I'll just get some copper tape and wing it! Cheers again JDJ Quote
