sirmontofgue
Wonder if anyone can help. I've got a 60th Anniversay Jazz, which was absolutely fine until recently. During the last couple of gigs, the E-string is as loud as ever, but the other 3 strings are probably less than half the volume and just do not cut through. I've had a look at the electrics and everything seems fine. I also know its not the amp as my other guitars are OK. Has anybody else had this problem? Can anyone help?! willyf87
You checked the pick up distance? Would be my first port of call, if it's too high E side could be causing the problem. It could be a fault with a pot still but I don't know how you could check that maybe even the output jack is a bit damaged? If in doubt take it to a local luthier. If that makes no difference then check the spacing between the strings and the pickups - try tightening the screw on the 'E end' of the pickups (moving the pickup away from the E string).
