megallica Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) I scanned this from an old issue of Bassist magazine - I've always had fun playing it and wanted to share it with my fellow basschatters. Edited February 22, 2011 by megallica Quote
gerryk Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Good Call. This is seminal piece, often overlooked due to being murdered by repeated covers etc. Quote
paul_5 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I remember this when it first came out, lovely arrangement, perfect for a quiet evening's practice. Also this piece taught me nearly everything I know about bass chords up the dusty end. Win. Thanks for posting, I'll take a stroll down memory lane tonight. Quote
bh2 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Super... one of my faves to play... shame on me I can't read! Quote
Stuart Clayton Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I always enjoyed Terry Gregory's arrangements. I still play his versions of 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore' and 'Mercy Mercy Mercy' to this day. In fact, I played them this morning! Stu Quote

(I scanned all of the music from the bassist magazines before I sold the entire collection - laborious, but handy all these years later). I'll have a look and dig them out Quote
bluesparky Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Here you go, here are the first few. I'll post some more later. I've had to delete a ton of photos / attachments that i've put on basschat over the years to let me upload these (who'd of thought they'd have all added up to so much) so if you click on an old pic etc and it's not there, that's why! Let me know if you want any more. Cheers. Quote

burno70 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Hey many thanks for these! I learned Autumn Leaves for my 3rd year recital at uni over 10 years ago and still play it - lovely tune. I've got girlfriend stoppage til wednesday - can't wait to get stuck in! Quote

(sorry, couldn't resist. No offence intended) Thanks for these charts - chord work is something I've been wanting to work at for a while now so this is a great kick in the a$$. Quote

bluesparky Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I just had an e-mail advertising a book of solo arrangements from bassline publishing, which seems to be along these lines, for those who're interested.
