Right, im starting to want to change my bass again

I have a 2007/8 Ernie ball sub bass, but im swaying towards the fender J and fender P bass
The Genre im playing atm is very much, Dance/industrial/electronic-rock, basicly Hadukoen, NIN, Prodigy, pendulum etc etc

Was wondering if anyone could give me a run down on wich bass would be best for me :)

I like low action and thin necks btw :)

Nothing wrong with the sub, love it, but im fancying a change, It doesnt really give me the sound im going for either, i tried a fender P the other day and it was immensely nicer on sound!!!! but didnt play as nice,

The EB was perfect for my previous bands, but its basicly a case of,
Loads of treble
or
No treble

theirs no nice warm sounds in between

Hmmmmm,
If it's a case of wanting that P bass passive warmth with a J neck then I guess I'd take a look at Lakland Duck Dunn.

What amp/cab setup are you using, I can usually get something nice an punchy without spitting treble on my 2 3eq Rays through my MarkBass gear.

I know just what you mean...you need a motown fat P bass with a Ping ray top end, mids mean nothing.... you can find all you want (and its a big ask) from one of these...

Aerodyne Jazz Bass, or Duff McKagan Signature Bass?

Or, as iconic has put forward, Yamaha. Theres a BB1100s up for grabs on here at the moment.

P & J pickups, active, but the bass can be run in passive mode, active has bass/mid/treb. From what I recall from mine (20 yrs ago) was a thinner neck than a Precision.

i use a Peavy/markbass III bass head (150 watts) through a 2x15 laney cab, i think im just fancying a change, but that fender sounded great through my rig, and it was a cheap one too :/

Ive had a Yamaha before, wasnt too keen on it :/

Other basses ive had was
5string Bass collection, lovely bass
some form of stagg (played it to death)
and started with a westfield. lol

For the music you described a suitably powerful sound would be available from an american Jazz Deluxe. A super-wide range of sounds from the two active pups. Thin neck, fat sound, wasn't that the brief?
