Floyd Pepper Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Hi, After having withdrawn this, I'm now testing the water again for anybody who is after a great Warwick bass for £[s]875[/s] - £800. Cheers, Jim Hi, As per my other post, I'm moving on the non-players and saving the money for a rainy day (or a vintage jazz rainy day) and after a lot of thought, I've decided to sell my 1991 Warwick Streamer Stage 1. It really is a very good bass and for a bass celebrating it's 20 years birthday, it's in good condition with no major dings. There are some marks to the body (see photo) and it does show signs of use which is to be expected. Since I puchased it about a year ago, I have waxed it on several occassions and I will include the remainder of the wax with the bass. It comes with a very low action and a Warwick Rockbag soft gigbag. Cheers, Jim Edited August 15, 2011 by Floyd Pepper
warwickhunt Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I've never played this bass nor do I personally have any affiliation with FP but I've yet to find a Streamer of this era that is a duffer! The woods IMHO are still of the best quality; the maple for the bodies on these basses [despite the minor dings], is tight and resonant and though I may prefer the woodiness of the Wenge necked basses, there is no other Warwick that gives the tone of these predominantly maple basses. Oh and the wax will last you 20 years... I made one tin last me that long and I used it on a LOT of Warwick basses!
sshorepunk Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 old stage 1's possibly the finest warwick money can buy! Even the newer ones are good!
Floyd Pepper Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 Thanks for the comments folks. Agreed. If you are after a Warwick, then this is The One!

Floyd Pepper Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011
Bump for a fabulous bass guitar.
Thanks Mike. It is a cracker but it's a quiet world out there at the moment. I may hang on until things pick up.
cocco Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I had a stage 1 fiver that was awesome apart from the fact it was a fiver, quite an expensive way to find out I don't like fivers, bump for the bass I should have bought!
Floyd Pepper Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 Last bump for a while and then it's going back in it's case.
Kev Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Stunning One thing though, is it the lighting or is left maple body wing darker than the right?
Floyd Pepper Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011
Stunning One thing though, is it the lighting or is left maple body wing darker than the right?
There is a slight difference where 20 years of a right hand/wrist has brushed against the upper part of the maple body giving it a lighter tone but it's mainly the light for the photo which seems to exaggerate any difference. Cheers, Jim
LukeFRC Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 ah a twin of mine, if it's anything like mine this is a great bass at a brilliant price

I must admit that I thought I had priced it fairly but market is quiet at the moment.
LukeFRC Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 warwicks are not popular on bass chat and and prices are low.... i also had mine on gumtree at various times and got offers over your asking price....
spacecowboy Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Good luck with the sale mate, it was a cracking bass when i had it too, the perfect sister to my old Stage II!
Floyd Pepper Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 Now back on the market again with a new price.
Tandro Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I'm not after a stage 1 myself (got one already), but I have to say that seems to be a pretty good price for this. Have a bump on me...

LukeFRC Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 it's even got a knot in the wood at the same place as mine! they could be twins What month was it made? mine was july 91
thisnameistaken Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 If anyone's got the money and is anywhere near, they should go try this bass. These older Warwicks are super slick basses and have a real idiosyncratic sound to them that really stands out in a mix with guitars.
