spinynorman Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 2 pairs, mounted straight. How well would that work? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BASSO-stile-MANOWAR-...G-/110651254523 Quote
Ou7shined Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 (edited) They'd just work like a standard humbucker permanently wired in series. I hope that neck is reinforced somehow. That's a lot of tension for a neck half the standard thickness to carry. Edited February 28, 2011 by Ou7shined Quote
Happy Jack Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I don't think I've ever seen a neck made like that ... usually the sides are straight lines. Quote
EssentialTension Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I found that slightly scary. Quote
ahpook Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011
Maybe the tension on the thin neck not so much a problem as the rest of the build.
apart from the fact the rest of the build is fugly as hell ! Quote
2x18 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 That looks awful! Half a P-Pickup is great for modding a Mandolin to electric! Quote
spinynorman Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Normally on a P the strings go between the poles. String alignment has no effect on tone: discuss. : Quote
daz Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) It sounds like it was his prototype and now he knows what mistakes not to make, so he has made another better model and is getting rid of this as its rather embarrassing and ill bet don't sound too good. I notice none of the usual exclamations of sonic excellence, which is unusual for flea bay. Edited March 5, 2011 by daz Quote
